Winchester Business Systems to Exhibit at the DIA Annual Meeting 2007
"Technology Fast 50” Pharmaceutical Company selects Winchester’s Protocol Manager
A Fresh Business Outlook
Business Intelligence for Clinical Trials from Cognos . . .
Winchester expanded its offerings of life sciences products in 2006 to include a valuable interface with the Cognos 8 Business Intelligence (BI) software. In addition, to managing and reporting on the span of clinical trials, product complaints, managed documents, and CAPA reports utilizing Winchester's tools, we are also able to offer a complete range of BI capabilities: reporting , analysis , scorecarding , dashboards , and business event management . This data mining gives clients the additional flexibility to "slice and dice" valuable project, product, personnel, and progress data to serve as an enterprise-scale foundation for performance management.
Re-engineering for a CTMS . . .
Another significant growth area has been Winchester's offering and delivery of a Requirements Planning and Analysis Study both to current and prospective clients. The goal of the study is to provide companies with insight into their current R&D processes, clinical objectives, and potential benefits to be gained by streamlining their clinical trial procedures. The resulting implementation of collaborative solutions has allowed our clients to "flatten their organizations" and increase efficiency and throughput. In simple terms, clinical personnel are now better able to connect and work with their peers both inside the company as well as with outside partners and vendors. Simply speaking, they are now better able to "work together" as a team with common, identified goals.
Areas where there has been a positive impact include:
Timely management of clinical trials
Better understanding as to where the people assigned are spending their time on a clinical trial
Faster resolution of their customers' product complaints
A review of changes to SOPs that can improve clinical operations when moving to an electronic environment.
Earlier awareness of patient adverse events
Broadening of quality programs
Inclusion of people who care and need to participate on the management of company documents
20 New Clients . . .
Throughout 2006, our consultants engaged with hundreds of clinical professionals who wanted to know more about how to streamline their clinical trials. We added 20 new customers during the year. We now have many life sciences clients and customers in the Software 100, Fortune 500, and Global 500. Winchester's ComPac GxP compliance product was used extensively by many clients involving software compliance for global health agency regulations. Winchester trained users of Winchester's Protocol Manager CTMS all over the world.
Senior Talent . . .
We have added some great new talent to both the executive staff and extended development team to help bring our vision to a wider audience and extend the role of our products to meet the global interests of our customers. We greatly expanded or deepened the scope of coverage of several of our products, especially Winchester's Protocol Manager.
Expanded Business Partnerships . . .
Winchester expanded its membership in business partner programs with Microsoft, IBM, COGNOS, RSA, and Sun and Son. We expanded our interfaces with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) products including PhaseForward, E-Trials, Data Labs, ClinPhone, OmniComm, SAP, and E-Siebel. Winchester also expanded its interfaces to work seamlessly with Microsoft Office products.
Finally, during 2006 we were recognized extensively by the industry. Several industry publications listed Winchester's Protocol Manager as the " comprehensive model for success " for clinical trials management systems.
New Products . . .
In 2007, we plan to release two major new products to meet the even greater demand for collaboration using the internet. In addition, we will expand Winchester's markets not only domestically, but globally as well. To achieve our goals, we will improve and expand our partnerships and reseller relationships for our AtSignOn and ComPac GxP compliance products and continue to incorporate data from our customers and the market.
Seminar: Streamlining Clinical Trials . . .
Winchester, IBM, Cognos, and Averion International will host a seminar on "Streamlining the Management of Clinical Trials" at IBM's Innovation Center in downtown Chicago on Thursday, February 8, 2007. The speakers will describe and demonstrate the latest offerings on and benefits of streamlining clinical trials. To register for the seminar
